Proposed School Facility Project

Smyth County voters will consider a proposed 1% local sales tax increase as part of the November 2026 election. If approved, revenue generated by the additional sales tax would be designated for school capital projects.

Two projects identified as part of the proposal would provide new facilities at Chilhowie High School and Marion Senior High. The conceptual plans and renderings below provide a look at the proposed project at Marion Senior High.
